[Tessellation] Introduction through Pentagon Templates

This project has turned into an eye-opener because through it, I learnt how students with autism perceived objects. In short, it brought out their strength and it was one project all of them carried out independently.

Some were able to see figures within shapes in varying formation. Some were fast to pick out sequence while others were calculating to fit in a design they had envision.

It was wonderful to see them focus on their ideas and confident to create their very own designs.

There wasn't a fix series of step, students took off with it and made it their own. It was basically presenting the template, provide examples of what can be done, students chose their own medium and it was that.

Dancing Birds

Creating these Dancing Birds are easy, students will never feel they are wrong on where they placed the shapes - and this is always important.

Step 1: Paint on paper, wet on wet technique is a good way to go to achieve soft shades
Step 2: Allow paper to dry
Step 3: Draw in Oil pastel
Step 4: Add colours or strokes
